25 weeks and rolling along!

So I had another check up with my Doctor yesterday and everything is going along nicely, baby is doing well and is very active right now. His increased activity is due in part to lots of room and amniotic fluid for him to move around in, so in effect he can sort of *swim*.

I had my gestational diabetes test last Monday and the results are all good. I am 4.4 on the scale. 4.2 being the low end, to 7.7+ being not good. So basically, if I am not presenting symptons of it now I am not really at risk to develop it, yay for me! I celebrated with a turtle ice cream... mmmmmm so good.

Progress is starting on our nursey/office and I am really looking forward to it looking like somewhere a baby can sleep. I have such an urge to go and start buying stuff! but we really need to get things in order before I bring more into the house lol. Our next purchase will hopefully be a change table, and the stroller/car seat will come in a couple more months I expect. With obtaining a crib for free, and having the use of the beautiful bassinet that my husband! used to sleep in hehehe.... that has really cut down on the big purchases for sure.

It's such a beautiful day here in Vancouver, and the nice weather is set to continue right through the weekend thankfully. We have had lots of unsettled stuff of late and it will be nice to get a fine stretch, and finally go to a softball game and not get wet or have to huddle under a blanket.

With only 2 1/2 weeks to go here now it seemed to finally sink in this morning as I stepped off the bus and crossed the road to my office. It is really going to be strange not coming in here again... I mean, I know I was going to be off for a year anyway, but that was not until the end of August and in all likelihood I would have come back. Although I am really quite happy with the whole outcome, I couldn't help feel a tinge of sadness. I will really miss some people I work with, although alot of us live on the North Shore and plan to get together on a semi regular basis anyhow. We are having a big *farewell* dinner at a wonderful seafood restaurant in Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver (fabulous spot!) which should be lots of fun.

Ok, I really should do something that resembles work right now ;o)
